When guests
come to stay at your home, you want a place for
them to feel welcome and comfortable.
Even if
your budget is small, you can put together an
incredible guest room that is both stylish and
elegant.
Just follow
these tips:

1.
Add a fresh coat of paint to the room.
Pick a
soothing color that’s conducive to sleep, like
light blue or lavender.
2.
De-clutter the room.
Think
minimalist! Remove any furniture that isn’t
necessary, keep knick-knacks and photos to a
minimum. A good rule of thumb is one or two
items per surface.
Keep the
bedside table clear, and empty the drawers in
the dresser or bureau.
3.
Pay attention to window treatments.
Window
treatments should allow for both light and
ventilation, but should also give enough
privacy.
4.
Make sure the bed is sturdy, and the
mattress isn’t lumpy.
Use the
best linens you can afford, and make sure there
are at least three pillows on the bed.
Pillow
cases, sheets, and comforters should also match.
5.
Make sure there is a chair or other
surface on which to sit.
6.
Supply at least two bath towels, hand
towels, and washcloths for your guest.
A basket
with trial-sized shampoo, soap, and body lotion
is a nice touch.
7.
Make sure the carpet is clean and
bright.
Have the
carpet in your guest room professionally cleaned
at least once to twice per year. A nice, clean
carpet lends ambience and warmth to your guest
room! |
